A Partner helps

Before my retirement, I spent four months on leave of absence from August 2020 to December 2020. I retired in January 2021. Due to the pandemic and lockdown, I lost contact with my teacher-friends. I no longer went to the YMCA and stopped exercising. I also lost contact with my friend Vanessa. On Tuesday, December 28, 2021, I called her. She suggested we meet and start exercising again. The next day, we started walking on December 29, 2021.

This begins our 1st week of walking.  On Tuesday, we walked 2.4 miles.  The week before, the longest I walked was 1 mile.  With partners, I walked a total of 10 miles.  Walking with a partner is so much better.

Vanessa walked with me for two days that week, Wednesday and Thursday. Juana and I used to go to the YMCA together before the pandemic. She encouraged me to take pictures of our activities. Debra and I walk together a great deal. However, the pavement is hard on her knees, and she is a dog lover and prefers to walk in the dog park on the ground. I am not a dog lover, and the pavement is okay

Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 New International Version

9 Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.
